Capsules vs. Powder: Which Form Is Best for You?

When choosing superfoods, one of the most common questions we get is: should I choose capsules or powder? The truth is, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer, and it largely comes down to personal preference and your lifestyle.

  1. Convenience: Capsules Win for Ease of Use

If you’re someone who’s constantly on the go, capsules might be your best option. They’re pre-measured, portable, and easy to take without worrying about mixing, scooping, or measuring. Capsules can also help with:

  • Travel-friendly: No need to carry around a bulky container of powder or scoopers.
  • No taste or texture: Capsules mask the sometimes strong or earthy taste of powders, making them ideal if you’re sensitive to certain flavors.
  • Easily digestible: The housing on all our capsules except the hemp oil (these are a gelatin capsule), are made from plant cellulose, which makes them easily digestible.

2. Absorption and Flexibility: Powder Offers More Control

If you like being able to to adjust your dosage more flexibly, the powder is a great option. Here’s why:

  • Customisable dosage: You can easily adjust how much you take, depending on your needs.  Want to bake with your superfoods and add 1/12 tbs, you don’t need to open the capsules to get the powder.
  • Blend into foods and drinks: Powders can be mixed into smoothies, yoghurt, water, or juice, making it an easy way to incorporate supplements into your daily diet. You can also sprinkle the powders on your food- add mushroom to your soups and pastas.

3. Cost: Powders Tend to Be More Economical

For those looking to stretch their dollar, powders are often more cost-effective. Since capsules require additional manufacturing steps (encapsulation, bottling, etc.), they can be more expensive on a per-serving basis. With powder, you’re paying more directly for the raw material itself, without the added cost of the capsule or other manufacturing processes.

4. Dosage Precision: Capsules Offer Consistency

One advantage of capsules is their precise dosing. Each capsule contains a measured amount of the active ingredient, so you know exactly how much you’re taking every time. This is especially beneficial if you need a specific, consistent dose each day.

5. Taste and Sensory Experience

For some, taste is a major deciding factor. If you find the taste of certain supplements unpleasant or difficult to handle, capsules might be the better option.

Still can’t decide?? If you get the capsules, they are easy to open and sprinkle the powder in your smoothie or soups
